I am grateful for the support of the following leaders in Cambridge:
- Cambridge Councilor Catherine Zusy
- Cambridge Councilor Tim Flaherty
- Cambridge Councilor Patricia Nolan
- Cambridge School Committee Chair David Weinstein
- Former Cambridge Councilor Paul Toner
Councilor Nolan shared these thoughts:
Why will?
I believe Will is the best candidate for the district and the Commonwealth.
His work on the criminal justice reform bill showed leadership, empathy and effectiveness all while acknowledging the need for public safety.
He is unbelievably responsive to constituents. And, in my council I have seen firsthand how valuable a partner he is. From ensuring redistricting was fair to shepherding important home rule bills, he serves us well.
He challenges when appropriate, fights for progressive values, understands the need for fiscal responsibility and is fully transparent, even at personal political cost. He is focused, and digs deep into issues to ensure decisions are based on reality not wishful thinking
He takes hard votes and is open about tradeoffs, as he was with the question of how to balance property tax apportionment between commercial and residential. He did the right thing recently by advocating for a way to ensure the solution was more fair and equitable for households and small businesses. That courage is all too rare. We are lucky to have Will serve us.
