A lot of people are voting at the polls on Tuesday. And many of those voters will make their final decisions at the last minute. Your friends and neighbors will appreciate an email with your thoughts! If you need inspiration, use or adapt this sample message.
Dear friends,
Tuesday, September 1 is Primary Day here in Massachusetts, and I hope you’ll join me in voting to re-elect Will Brownsberger as our state senator. Both Unenrolled voters and registered Democrats are eligible to vote in the Democratic Primary.
Will is one of the hardest-working people in state government. He shows up constantly in the community, publishes his cell phone number, personally answers constituent emails, and digs deep into policy and legislation.
He’s an uncommon kind of politician who won’t just tell you what you want to hear or promise easy solutions to complicated problems. Will is a true progressive, but looks to the best evidence – not popular opinion – for what really works to solve the problem. Even if I don’t agree with him on every issue, I always know exactly where he stands, and why. He’s also consistently willing to listen and keep an open mind.
Will gets big things done. He’s been a leader on reducing housing costs and protecting renters. He led groundbreaking criminal justice and police reforms that lifted people up and created one of the strongest police oversight agencies in the country. He’s responsible for major improvements in government transparency, led big advances in road safety for cyclists and pedestrians, and is a recognized legislative leader in climate change and the environment. And most recently, he was a top leader in passing the PROTECT Act to defend our immigrant neighbors from the horrible actions by ICE.
But don’t take it from me – see his long track record of results for yourself.
Will Brownsberger is a true public servant who deeply cares for his constituents and works so hard for us. I hope you will join me in voting for him on September 1. Both registered Democrats and Unenrolled voters are eligible to cast a ballot in this race.
