I am grateful for the endorsement of Cambridge Bicycle Safety for my record of results and ongoing hard work to improve road safety.
Excerpt from the official endorsement statement
“Will Brownsberger has been an exceptionally accessible and consistent partner. He has attended CBS events, rallies, and vigils for many years, responded directly when advocates needed help, and worked across municipalities and state agencies to move difficult transportation projects forward.
“Locally, Brownsberger has helped secure important improvements around the BU Bridge and Memorial Drive, including a wider shared-use path, rebuilt wheelchair ramps and median islands, improved crosswalks, and a lower 25 mph speed limit. He has remained engaged as advocates continue pressing for broader improvements to the rotary, Reid Overpass, and Memorial Drive.
“Brownsberger has also delivered meaningful statewide legislation. He helped pass the 2022 vulnerable road user law, which established a four-foot safe passing requirement and required side guards and visibility equipment on certain state-owned and state-contracted trucks.
“He has been a leading champion of automated enforcement despite years of legislative resistance and is the lead sponsor of the current road safety camera legislation. A version of this legislation has made it into an omnibus appropriations bill, which is now heading to conference between the House and Senate. His work demonstrates the persistence and legislative experience required to move major safety policies through a slow and challenging system.”
